Show Notes
In this episode of the Driven Female Entrepreneurs Podcast, I speak with the Founder and Director of KeriKit, Keri Jamieson.
Much as she loved her job as a senior fashion buyer for a large high-street retailer, Keri wanted to have more time to dedicate to her growing family. While pregnant with her first child, Keri excitedly went shopping for a practical bag. But she was dismayed by the options available. Two years later when her twins were born, she found that the situation hadn't changed and, having been a successful handbag designer from 20-years, she decided she was going to step in and create the range of practical handbags women deserved, and her fourth baby, KeriKit, was born.
Her aim was to create beautiful bags that suited the many needs of a mother's day. Bags they could use when in the playground with their kids, and then walk proudly into a business meeting with. Bags that would help them feel like a woman and not just a Mum. A bag that would ensure they felt organised, confident and well put together. Six years later, she has received countless messages from Mums thanking her for her bags and showing her that she has been successful in her goal.
Listen to this episode to discover how Keri built her handbag brand from scratch, the challenges she's encountered along the way, and her best advice for women building a business around a family.
