Today I’m joined by Karen Turner, artist, visibility strategist, and founder of the Go Large art Company.

Karen’s journey began in a traditional office job, where she spent 25 years in press cuttings. Though she had an artistic background, she initially dismissed art as a career as helpful adults advised that being an artist isn’t a way to make a real living. 

However, the pandemic reignited her passion when she participated in the Portraits for NHS Heroes project initiated by Tom Croft. This led to her rediscovering art, building a following on Instagram, and eventually making a name for herself by painting celebratory portraits of larger-bodied women.

Today, through her company, Go Large, she helps other artists gain visibility and build authentic careers by refining their message to attract the right audience. She teaches them to showcase their work, grow their audience, and overcome self-doubt—empowering them to create success on their own terms.
